Where does granite come from?
Since 1968 Ideal Tile and Terrazzo Ltd has been importing granites and marbles from all over the world. Much of stone comes from South America, India and Scandinavia where it is cut out of the mountains in huge blocks weighing up to 20 tonnes.
Granite is a very hard stone formed by nature over hundreds of millions of years from the Earth's molten core. It comes in a staggering range of colours, many with an attractive movement and some with almost holographic sparkle and intensity of colour. Granite can be supplied in different finishes - high polish, matt or textured, depending on the application. Its hard-wearing properties make it the ideal work surface for kitchens, bathrooms, and flooring.
Using traditional methods in conjunction with state-of-the-art machinery our certified technicians cut shape and polish your edges to create your unique granite or marble surface.
NOTE: All stones are natural products and will vary in colour, intensity and veining from one slab to another and within individual slabs. The photographs on this website are provided as an indication only. Visiting our showroom to view our extensive stock of slabs is highly recommended.
